Troop 192 has a rich history of service to our community. Listed below are some of the many projects we undertake each year:
Flag Retirement Boxes – located at the Westerville Public Library and Westerville City offices. Flags are collected regularly and properly disposed of during troop flag retirement ceremonies at monthly camp outs and summer camp. Over the years, scouts have respectfully disposed of thousands of flags.
Holiday Food Baskets – each Thanksgiving and Christmas, the troop assists members of our charter organization (Central College Presbyterian Church) in the assembly of hundreds of food baskets which are given to local families in need. Due to the large turnout of scouts and their families, we are able to quickly set up the food, arrange the bags and efficiently prepare for the next stage of volunteers who fill and deliver the bags.
W.A.R.M. – each winter the troop spends an evening at the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (W.A.R.M.) office unloading and sorting hundreds of food items that volunteers use to feed those in need in our community. Doing the heavy lifting quickly and neatly allows other W.A.R.M volunteers to focus on directly serving clients.
New Albany Walking Classic – this event is one of the premier walking events in the country. Our scouts provide assistance to walkers on their route by providing water and encouragement and general trash pick up.
